Awareness of the fact that you are on a journey at all times also infuses each step with profound hope and urgency – to ensure that it will lead us to a destination. by Simon Jacobson
I want to say a prayer for my friend who passed on, Danielle, and our mutual friend Miguel as well. They both has heart attacks 2 days apart, in two different continents. May They rest in peace, I will remember you always , our experiences together will never be matched, our mutual understanding and compassion for one another, you will be so missed
my life with Isabella started on august 20, 2005, when she was brought to me in my home at the time, in Antigua Guatemala. She was out of the pgn courts on september 20, 2005, the guatemala court system, and then we waited for her passport and visas, for we were going home to Mexico first, and then to the U.S. to see grandma, and get her citizenship.
On august 20, 2005 i received the most precious angel, Isabella Arely Nohemi, in my home in Antigua Guatemala
the following is from my original journal,
MARCH 1 2005
i am beginning my adoption process. i started looking for information in oct 04, since july through october, i was numb from the sickness of both my father and my dog, friend child and companion, and then their deaths 2 weeks apart. after spending the entire month of october mourning and crying, i realized that my option to getting pregnant and having a child was to be an adoptive mom, and adopt a child. i researched countrys and agencys, and then came christmas vacation where it was hard to begin anything, because both mexico and guatemala, mexico where i am , and guatemala where i was thinking of adopting, were on standstill until the holidays came to an end.
in december i discovered several adoption forums, and they kept me going with an enormous amount of information, which led me to my adoptive placement agency, and the country, guatemala, which i have chosen to adopt. scroll down to see what it was like when i finally went down to Guatemala.
